Exclusive: Nic speaks out on Cyrell ditching her wedding ring

In an explosive Homestay Cyrell's brother Ivan infamously kicked Nic out. The shock ending, where Nic was told to "Stay the f**k away" left Nic and Cyrell's marriage in shambles.

Arriving at the Dinner Party, the fragmented couple had a very different idea of the state of their marriage. When Nic learned Cyrell wasn't wearing her wedding ring, it sent a strong message. In an exclusive interview Nic revealed, that gesture told him more than any words could.

"It was a shock,” he admitted. “When she arrived without her ring, I was a bit taken aback. We had a good week leading up to the Homestay and suddenly it all just turned around again."

At that stage, Nic firmly believed the two were still together. "We’re still married,” he recalls thinking. “I thought, let's give it some space and chat about it.”

But as the night continued, Nic said he realised Cyrell had listened to her brother and "checked out".

It was clear Cyrell wasn’t invested when she entered the Dinner Party and quipped, “I’m riding solo,”, taken straight from Jason Derulo's hit 2010 tune, before she moved onto queen Beyoncé and sung, "All the single ladies".

Later in the night, a tense conversation at the Dinner Table saw the two open up.

"When you walked away, don't think it didn't hurt me too. It genuinely hurt me so much," Cyrell told Nic.

"I got kicked out of your house," Nic responded.

"Regardless of what happened at the Homestay I don't want to just give up and walk away," he added. Cyrell remained unconvinced.

We will have to wait until the next Commitment Ceremony to find out whether Cyrell has truly "checked out" or if the pair can reconnect and push forward in the experiment.
