Bali’s Nusa Dua is one of the most popular holiday destinations for sun-seeking Australian families.

Meliá Bali Indonesia is family orientated, traditional, has beautiful grounds and pools and you have the option of “all-inclusive”.  That means all meals, select drinks, snacks, activities and tips are included.

Located on Nusa Dua’s beautiful beach, Meliá Bali is spread across 11 hectares of lush tropical gardens.  At the centre of it all is an enormous lagoon pool.

For families, Catriona recommends a Family Room with a loft bedroom for adults and plenty of child-friendly accessories to amuse the little ones.

Garden Villas sit separately from the main resort.  They measure 350 square metres and surrounded by high walls of lush gardens and private plunge pool they offer a world of luxury.

The Level is all about stepping up your holiday privileges and has one-on-one concierge service.

Junior Suites are split level with separate living and dining areas and balcony.  A teak stairway leads to a loft with king and twin beds and marble bathroom.

The Level Romance Suites have separate living and dining areas.  A four-poster bed, dressing room with separate vanity and walk-in closet make up the bedroom.

The Level Lagoon Access suites have a private terrace giving direct access to the resort’s

lagoon pool.  They have specially designed day beds with a trundle, spacious marble bathrooms and glass doors leading to a private terrace overlooking the lagoon and gardens.

Meliá Bali has five restaurants and three bars.  Sakura has its own sushi bar and teppanyaki tables.  Sorrento Mediterranean serves delicious paellas and seafood inside or outside facing lotus ponds and bougainvillea.  Lotus creates popular Asian cuisine.

Enjoy sandwiches, pizzas, steaks and salads for lunch or dinner on the new Sateria deck.  El Patio Coffee Shop is open 24 hours and serves an American-style buffet breakfast and international and Asian favourites.

Lobby Bar serves traditional cocktails, wine and beer, light snacks and ice cream.  There is live entertainment in the evening.

The resort’s Kids Club has fun entertainment and food made just for the little ones.  Delicious doughnut creations seem to be the favourite.

There is yoga, beauty treatments and rituals, exercise facilities and spa, all designed to relax and for families to share.

Catriona noticed that the size of Meliá Bali makes you never feel overcrowded and she loved the choice of activities.  She also noticed that guests and staff alike all had a smile on their faces.

She did manage to drag herself away from Meliá Bali’s luxury to visit Bali Collection, the largest shopping mall on the island.  It’s crammed with wonderful shops and her favourite was Uluwatu Lace which has beautiful day and bedwear, table and bed linen and accessories.
