Vlogger uses 'science' to queue jump at popular tourist spots

When Zac Alsop, a 22-year-old vlogger, was challenged by review website Tripadvisor to see if he could cut queues for two days straight — the result was, well, as awkward as you would imagine.

But that's not to say his techniques for queue-cutting didn't work — in fact, we were more than a little baffled by how effective some of them were.

As part of the challenge, the YouTube star met with a "proper queue jumping professor" (read: behavioural expert), to garner some science-backed tips for skipping the lengthy lines.

Alsop put these scientific queue-jumping tips to the test at two popular UK tourist spots, including Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth and Warwick Castle, and posted the clip on his YouTube channel. It's already garnered more than 45,000 views in its first day online.

‌In the caption posted below the cringe-worthy clip, Alsop reveals "I can safely say the science didn't help."

Among the techniques he pulled out to jump to the front of the line was: Acutally asking for permission to queue jump, trying to confuse other queuing customers, talking on the phone and slipping past incredulous queuers, apologising and skirting around people, and distracting both queuers and line attendants with ridiculous decoys.
