Moment Travel Guides star 'goes missing' during holiday
Give how much they've travelled over the past few years thanks to Nine's show Travel Guides, the Fren family from Newcastle are no strangers to bumps in the road.
While the family admit to 9Travel there have been "lots of mishaps" Mark makes the point that "they are the things you remember".
"A good bit of travel advice is that things are going to go wrong, you've got to expect that," he tells us.

Cathy recalls a time when the family were travelling back from the US and Jonathan actually 'went missing'.
"Jonathan is usually the first person to be in line and on the plane and I knew straight away something was wrong," Cathy shares.

Eventually they worked out he had been lining up at the wrong gate, and Qantas staff luckily were able to make some calls and locate him to make the correct flight home.
"Thank goodness it was Qantas and they were fans of the show so the [flight attendant] said 'leave it with me'. She's on the phone ringing the other gate," Mark adds.
There have been a few travel mishaps for the Fren family over the years. Nine
Apparently it was also not the first time poor Jono was left behind when the family travelled to Turkey.
"After a huge flight, getting on the bus jet lagged," Mark says, adding they began to do a roll call.
"Four Frens, I said 'yes', the bus starts up, off we go, we didn't have Jonathan," Mark admits.

Victoria reveals Cathy also almost missed a flight when the family travelled to Peru on the last season of the show.
"We had really tight connections so we all had to run to the flight, and we all know mum can't run," she says.
With all the flights the family have done over the years, they've also shared their "preferred spot".
"We always sit in the back row," Cathy reveals.
