'Still a crowd favourite': Top international destinations for Aussies right now
With Easter and Anzac Day lining up perfectly this year, plenty of Aussies had their sights set on jetting overseas this April.
Now new research from Webjet has revealed exactly where Australians are heading, with international flight bookings up 11 percent year on year.
While previous hotspots such as Bangkok, Wellington and Phuket have fallen by the wayside, here are all the top spots Aussies are heading this month. (tip: New Zealand is a safe bet!).
10. Nadi, Fiji
Taking out the 10th spot, and a new addition on the list compared to last year, is the holiday favourite of Nadi in Fiji.
Home to endless resorts ranging from family-friendly to five-star, this tropical paradise is just a short four-hour flight from most Australian hubs.
9. Singapore, Singapore
Increasingly more than just a stopover destination, Singapore's melting pot of vibrant culture, fabulous food and spectacular sights is drawing more Aussie crowds than ever.
From sipping cocktails at the top of the iconic Marina Bay Sands to enjoying the blooms at the Flower Dome, it's easy to spend a few days here.
The spot is also new to the top 10 compared to last year, according to Webjet data.
8. London, United Kingdom
Nothing beats that festive feeling as the UK heads into the warmer months, with Aussies happily making the trek to the British capital.
While London is down three spots on the list since this time last year, it's still a popular choice for those holidaying to Europe.
7. Manila, Philippines
The Philippines continues to enjoy a surge of popularity, with Manila climbing up to 7th spot on the list.
Whether it's exploring the vibrant city, or using it as a jumping off point to explore the country's stunning beaches, travellers are increasingly putting Manila on the must-see list.
6. Christchurch, New Zealand
Known for its charming English-inspired heritage, Christchurch has it all from incredible museums, world-class dining and awe-inspiring hikes and cycling trails.
5. Queenstown, New Zealand
Always a favourite with Aussie travellers, Queenstown's lakeside charm continues to lure holidaymakers.
Ticking off all the boxes from foodie to nature lover and adrenaline junkie, this one-stop South Island spot has something for everyone.
4. Los Angeles, USA
Making it into the top 10 for the first time at this time of year (despite the uncertainty facing some travellers given current events), the chilled out Californian vibes of Los Angeles are proving impossible to resist for Aussies.
Packed with iconic attractions such as Universal Studios Hollywood, the Hollywood sign and Dodger Stadium, this is the place to go for the ultimate American experience.
3. Tokyo, Japan
Australia's love affair with Japan continues to grow as holiday favourite Tokyo climbs from seventh place last year, to third on the list.
It's not hard to see why; from marvelling at the sights of Harajuku to scrambling across bustling Shibuya crossing at night, there's endless things to see and do.
2. Auckland, New Zealand
The perfect mix a cosmopolitan playground of a big city nestled amidst stunning natural beauty, Auckland is drawing more Aussie visitors than ever.
It's clear New Zealand remains a firm favourite given its close proximity for an international destination and the (still) decent conversion rate for the Aussie dollar.
