Terrified teenager passes out on ride but his friend has a bigger concern

In the gut-wrenching moments leading up to the launch of a slingshot ride in the United States, a teenager completely blacked out. But it was his friend's reaction that has caught the attention of the world.

The now-viral clip shot from a camera attached to the ride films the boy – Jake – completely losing consciousness as soon as it begins.

As he flops around in his seat, his friend – completely oblivious to his current state – has other concerns.

"Jake I lost my gum! Jake? Jake you're freaking me out!" she says.

As the ride comes to a stop, he finally regains consciousness and says: "I blacked out."

Jake continues to try to tell his pal that he fainted during the ride and can't remember anything, however she just can't quite get over the loss of her chewing gum.
