Big change coming to Qantas plane screens after four years
For the past four years, passengers flying Qantas have been welcomed with the same onboard safety video – but that's about to change.
The airline has introduced a brand new video that features testimonials from Frequent Flyers and front-line team members, replacing the previous version unveiled in 2020.
These new clips take passengers through each key part of the safety information from different unique locations all around the world and Australia.

Previously, Qantas flyers were welcomed by their 2020 Centenary-themed video, which took a trip down memory lane to the roaring twenties, aiming to show how safety has evolved.
Qantas Chief Customer Officer Catriona Larritt says the number-one priority across the Qantas Group is safety.

She adds that the inflight video and the airline's Cabin Crew are crucial in informing travellers to understand and listen to the information that can and has saved lives.
"First and foremost, the video is about familiarising our customers with safety procedures and we try to make it as engaging as possible, in particular for regular flyers who might otherwise tune out."
Their 2024 safety video includes key Qantas staff including cabin crew, pilots and customer service agents, while Frequent Flyers have also shared safety information from their 'magic place' destinations.

"We are proud to feature our own well-travelled team members and customers, to not only deliver the safety message but also promote travel and tourism by inspiring people to explore destinations they may not have experienced throughout Australia and beyond," Larritt continued.
Some of the beautiful locations in the video include New Zealand's Milford Sound, Sydney NSW, Marrakesh in Morocco and many more.
The new safety video will be released onboard Qantas flights progressively from this week, it comes in 75 different versions, narrated in 12 different languages.

Filmed across 14 destinations over 40 days, the new video includes locations with temperatures ranging from -36 degrees in Lapland, Finland to 36 degrees in Jaipur, India.
Qantas has recently been acknowledged for departing on time 69.5 per cent of the time in December, compared to its major domestic competitor at 56.5 per cent, its overall cancellation rate was also around half that of its major competitor.
