Qantas considers in-flight gyms, cafes and VR meditation for future long-haul planes
Research has revealed what customers want from futuristic long-haul flights — with health and wellness trends forming the bulk of suggestions.
Among the most desirable plane features, are exercise bikes, virtual reality relaxation zones and in-flight cafes serving healthy snacks, juices, alcoholic drinks and "treat" foods.
Focus groups conducted by Qantas and Sydney University's Charles Perkins Centre late last year identified a strong shift towards mindfulness and a desire for a "separation of experience" during the flight.
The airline also surveyed customers as they stepped off their 17-hour Perth to London service, to see how they could improve on the experience.
