The common item that you 'should not' put in your luggage, according to a baggage handler
Working out what to pack and what to leave behind can sometimes be a bit of a travel headache.
Particularly, when you've been on holiday and have accumulated a whole bunch of exciting new things you're keen to bring home with you.
But there are a few common items some people will pop in their luggage that a baggage handler has warned against.

In a Reddit discussion, the airline worker pointed out that having liquids in your luggage, such as bottles of alcohol, or perfume should be avoided.
Even food isn't really something you should be putting in your suitcase.
"Please don't pack food or drinks in your bag," they wrote.
"They rot, break, leak, open. It smells. Especially alcohol.
"Then I smell all day after picking up a bag that leaked on me."

A flight attendant previously shared this also one of the reasons she chooses hard shell luggage.
Megan Homme, an American airline worker, said having a soft suitcase might seem convenient, but it's not ideal if someone else's luggage spills or bursts in the hold.
"You never know what is going to be in someone else's bag, or what is going to be underneath the plane and what could leak on your bag," she shared on TikTok.
The advice comes after another flight attendant also shared that there is a right and a wrong way to use your luggage tag.
"I don't know why more people don't do this," Ally said.
"Always, always, always, flip your information on your luggage card backwards. I can't tell you how many people I see on a daily basis with their information displayed for anyone to see."
