One thing Jetstar flight attendant wishes passengers would do before take off
Many people who work in aviation might say that flying was their first love. Well, for Raena and Blake from the Gold Coast, a job in the air has also come with the extra perk of finding love on the ground.
As a cabin crew member and a first officer for Jetstar, Raena and Blake have been together for over two years. Not only do they get to work together, but also travel the world side by side.
And they've learned plenty along the way. Here, Raena shares some of their story and also her top travel tips with 9Travel.

How did you two first meet?
"We met while working together and began following each other on social media.
"It wasn't until I blurted out to the rest of the crew that I had a little crush on our first officer, Blake, that things got moving.
"With a bit of help and encouragement from our colleagues, we went on our first date.
How do you handle being on different schedules or in different time zones?
"We both know the importance and demand that our roles take and that we won't get to spend every dinner together.
"To be in a relationship with someone who completely understands the early starts and late finishes in aviation is so beneficial.
"We do our best to keep on a similar schedule and prioritise our time together.

What's the biggest mistake passengers make when flying?
"Not knowing the airline rules and requirements, lack of preparation going into a flight and not being mindful and respectful of others.
How to deal with jetlag?
"Try and adjust your body as much as possible on the plane ride to your destination, even better if you can do so before your travel.
"Make sure you're very hydrated and well fed. We always take electrolytes prior to getting on the plane and also whilst on the journey to our destination.

"Always give yourself at least a couple of days to rest and recover after getting home as well.
"Use that time to adjust back to the current time zone by setting alarms and getting fresh air and sunlight.
What's the one thing you won't travel without?
"Noise-cancelling headphones are a must for travel.
"Always bring your own entertainment as well, either movies downloaded on your own device or a book.
