The world's first pedal-powered rollercoaster arrives in Japan and it's terrifying

For rollercoaster aficionados, the thrill comes from dips and spins in the comfort of knowing that sudden death is very unlikely.

Well, a new rollercoaster in Japan doesn't quite offer the same security as you pedal around tracks which are about four-storeys high.

There's just a flimsy belt in the side-by-side tandem bike to ensure you don't fall out, and a breaking system which is optional.

Surely, there's guard rails? Sadly not. The carts are also open so buckle up that little bit of seatbelt before you start cycling.
