The line stretches all the way from the Tower across the Champs de Mars to the L’École Militaire. It was set up by Perrier and is here to commemorate the French Open, so sadly it is only here for a short time, from June 5 to June 11.

The zip line is named Le Perrier Smash and will have riders travelling 115 meters at up to 90km an hour, the speed of a high-powered tennis serve.

The free ride takes approximately one minute to complete and has had eager tennis fans and tourists alike flocking for a turn.

The zip line is currently the most adrenaline spiking of the attractions at the Eiffel Tower. Other permanent fixtures include two restaurants, a champagne bar, a lift to the top and a glass-bottomed look out.
