The strange men's club where women aren't allowed to speak

Samantha Stewart

Hidden underneath the grounds of a carpark in Germany is a very strange building, that very few have ever entered.

In no small part owing to the eye-watering $1.6 million a year membership fee, we suspect.

The exclusive men’s-only club, pictured in the video above via the club's Facebook page, remains shrouded in mystery.

The Munich Contenance Club is a place so secretive, no one actually knows it’s exact location, except the few millionaire members that visit the bizarre spot.

The annual $1.6 million fee affords members VIP treatments such as flights on the club’s private jet around Europe.

When it comes to women, the club is as backwards as it is underground; women are not allowed to speak unless they are spoken to and are only hired to work there if they are considered "sexy" by the owners.

Unsurprisingly, when the club opened last month its controversial views came under fire, being labelled a "noble brothel" and a "misogynistic macho club", according to local website Abendzeitung.

The interiors of the club are just as ostentatious as you'd imagine, with gold finishes on everything, massive chandeliers, raunchy paintings and plenty of statues of women.

The menu is just as over the top, featuring kobe beef, Champagne and caviar.

As for how many members the club has? That’s another mystery.
