Most regular travellers will know the cost of ordering room service or eating things from the mini bar in a hotel room can be a little bit pricey.

But one UK guest has called out the hotel they were staying at for selling frozen supermarket pizza, for four times the price it costs to buy.

In a review on Tripadvisor, the frustrated guest pointed out the Ibis hotel in Birmingham City Centre was charging £12.95 ($23) for the Chicago Town's pizza that can be bought at Asda for just £3.25 ($5.50).

The review started positively: "Lovely staff, especially Rita. Great breakfast!"

But then they said the "big minus was the pizza on the menu".

"Hotel serves £4 frozen pizza from the supermarket, Chicago Town – the one with stuffed crust, for £12.95. So disrespectful!"

The hotel ended up responding to the review, sharing they were looking at "providing an alternative solution".

"Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for complimenting our team and especially Rita," Dayana Kancheva, Assistant General Manager, commented.

"We have taken your comments regarding our pizzas into a consideration and will work together on providing an alternative solution to improve this aspect of our product. We appreciate your feedback and hope that you will give us another chance in the near future."
