Stay in glass pods on the side of a mountain in Peru
If you like a little adrenaline with your accommodation, perhaps it’s time to consider a stay at Peru’s cliff-hanging holiday houses.
Suspended on a rock face over 1,312 feet above the Sacred Valley in Cusco Peru, are the Skylodge Adventure Suites. The incredible glass-pods have lured intrepid travellers since 2013, but getting there isn’t an easy task.
Only accessible by climbing, hiking or zip-lining, the trip to the pods takes around three to four hours each way. It’s a 400 meter climb to the top, but the view at the top is totally worth it.
The pods themselves are made from aerospace aluminium and high-resistance polycarbonate and can sleep up to four people. Each lodge is equipped with four beds, a dining area and a bathroom separated by an insulating wall.
The best part? At night the pods make for an exceptional place for star gazing, thanks to the minimal light pollution in the area.
A stay in the Skylodge Adventure Suites will cost around $464 per night.
