Flight attendant reveals why you should always accept free wipes on a plane
Planes can be dirty places – we know this – but there is a reason that many airlines hand out sanitiser wipes when you board, as one flight attendant has revealed.
Airline worker Cierra Mistt regularly shares her travel adventures and plane secrets on TikTok, and recently warned passengers of why they should always accept the free wipes and what exactly to use them on.
"Here's some things that passengers should know that flight attendants and pilots don't talk about until now that is," she said in her latest 'flight secrets' video.

One of this is that while cleaners do come on flights after passengers have gotten off, they don't do a "deep clean" like we might think (or hope!).
"In fact, they only did that during COVID and the only things that they really deep cleaned were the tray tables and seat belts. Nowadays it's more like just to tidy up and getting the trash off the floor," Mistt said.
"That being said, there is a reason why we offer you those wipes right as you're boarding the plane.
"If I were you, instead of wiping down that tray table and seat belt they just cleaned, I would use that wipe to clean off the window that you're sitting next to.
"Because just like the bathroom floor, those things have never been cleaned either."

The video struck a nerve with many of her followers, many of whom couldn't believe the cleaning was still so minimal.
"I would have never thought to clean the window. Thanks," one person commented.
"I bring wipes on plans and wipe down everything! And I mean everything," another said.
"I'm wiping down the seat, table, windows, wall, arm rest... lol," was another response, while a fourth agreed, writing: "I always have Clorox wipes with me. I wipe down the seat, headrest, tray table, TV if there's one, window, armrest, seatbelt. I clean the bathroom too."

In the same video, the US airline worker, also stressed the fact that you should never go to the bathroom on a plane barefoot.
She also suggested not to use the toilet paper.
"Instead use the paper towels, it's higher quality and it won't dissolve like the toilet paper," she revealed.
