Couple set to pedal 360km down River Seine for their honeymoon

It’s not your regular honeymoon, but a pair of newlyweds have decided to ditch all the regular traditions and opt for something a little more adventurous.

Rémi Le Calvez, a travel blogger and Victoria Berni, a civil servant entered, into a pacte civil de solidarité, a contractual union between two adults, with a few less responsibilities than marriage.

To celebrate their union, the couple continued the theme of doing things out of the norm and decided they’d spend their first few weeks together pedalling 360km – that’s 40km a day –  through France’s waterways to the scenic port town of Honfleur.

Through rain, hail and sunshine, the couple will be doing everything on their tiny three-metre-long pedal boat which carries their food, clothing, tent and amenities.

Throughout the day as they’re pedalling, the couple kill time by playing music and listening to the radio. While at night they make an effort to meet up with people.

So far, the trip for Rémi and Victoria has been smooth, but the trip home will be more of challenge physically as the river becomes more tidal.
