Flight attendant reveals the 'secret' reason for black triangle stickers on planes
If you've ever noticed a random black triangle stuck on the wall of a plane, you've probably wondered why it's there.
Well, a flight attendant has finally revealed the reason.
According to Henny Joyce Lim, who works for Cebu Airlines, it's a subtle signal for cabin crew.

These triangle stickers are all in the same location - over the wing.
"If flight crew need to check the wings these triangles let them know the best vantage points for the slats and flaps outside," explains Henny in a 2022 TikTok that has been resurfaced this week.
But they don't just have to be used by airline staff. If you're travelling on a flight where you get to choose your own seats once you board, look for the triangle.
"Anybody who loves taking window shots or videos will get the best view over the wings from these seats," she declared.

According to a 2015 Quora post, some people call the seat below the black triangle the William Shatner seat.
"This is the place inside the airplane from which you can get the best visual check for ice or other problems," wrote retired aerospace engineer Lee Ballentine.
"The Shatner reference is to one of the strangest Twilight Zone episodes, 'Nightmare at 20,000 Feet," Ballentine continued. "In it, Shatner's character sees a gremlin on the wing of the plane he's a passenger on."
Flight attendant Henny has been explaining airplane mysteries on her social media for years. Recently, she revealed the reason why cabin crew sit on their hands during takeoff and landing.

"The aim is to keep the body in a rigid pose so that if there was any impact from an unplanned emergency, the body is damaged less."
"This keeps body movement restricted so that there is less chance of injury if there was an impact," she explained.
