The most beautiful towns in Australia revealed in new ranking
Australia is home to some of the world's most stunning places, and now a new ranking has revealed where you'll find the most beautiful town in the country.
After analysing data from Instagram and Pinterest, a study by MortgageBroker.com.au has crowned a historic town in Tasmania as the most beautiful in Australia.

With 4,900,000 Instagram hashtags and 1,088 Pinterest pins, Richmond has taken out the title.
Located just under half an hour from the state's capital Hobart, in the Coal River region, Richmond has a population of barely 1000.

Richmond's most famous landmark is the Richmond Bridge, built between 1823 and 1825, around the time of the town's first settlement, and considered to be the 'oldest' bridge in Australia.
Coming in second place was the only NSW town to make the list of the top 10 most beautiful.
Byron Bay, the beach-side haven for influencers and backpackers alike, clocked up an impressive 3,300,000 Instagram hashtags.
While some of the posts likely had less to do with the 'charm' of the town, it is still a stunning place to visit.

Another beach-side suburb also featured in the top three, with Noosa in Queensland coming in third place with 1,701,000 posts. Located along the Sunshine Coast, Noosa is surrounded by stunning beaches, lakes, and the lush hinterland of Noosa National Park.
The top five was rounded out by locations on the opposite coast in Western Australia.
Coming in fourth was Albany (1,301,019 posts), located at the southern tip of Western Australia. It's known for its beaches, such as the popular Middleton Beach and the secluded Little Beach.
And in fifth was Margaret River with just over 875,000 posts, known for its craft breweries, boutiques and surrounding wineries as well as the beaches and surf breaks that line the nearby coast.
