3 reasons why you should try this luxury farm stay on the NSW south coast

Australia is home to an abundance of gorgeous homesteads. But there's nothing quite like Kiama's Greyleigh.

Greyleigh is a beautiful property set on 200 acres of land, immersed in nature, centuries of local history, and the finest modern luxuries while overlooking the picturesque NSW south coast.

The website boasts that it is an "uniquely luxurious accommodation that blends country and coast with orchards, wildlife, green rolling hills with the Pacific Ocean stretching out before you" - and it's no word of a lie.

I was lucky enough to spend a night at the stunning property and here are three reasons why I think you should too.

1. It's full of rich history

The property was first established as a working dairy farm in the 1800's – a place of family gatherings, significant moments with loved ones and the authenticity of life lived from the land.

It has since been transformed into a luxury farm stay, which can accommodate up to 18 guests in two houses – the Homestead and the Guest House.

While it is an updated property, it still promotes agricultural and sustainable living and guests are encouraged to explore the grounds to pick fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs from the orchards and gardens, or stop by the chicken coop to gather some fresh eggs for their breakfast.

It also provides a home to sheep, alpacas, bees and two Shetland ponies.

2. Unique experiences at your doorstep

There's something to see or do for the whole family during your stay. Greyleigh Gems offers a curation of authentic experiences to enhance everyone's time during their luxurious farm stay.

Greyleigh brings the experience to you, we're talking unique treatments, classes and workshops right outside your door.

Whether it's treating yourself to a rejuvenating session at Greyleigh Spa, or whipping up a storm in the kitchen during a private cooking class – there's so much to choose from.

3. The interior and design is full of personality

Given that it used to be a dairy farm, you can imagine the amount of blood, sweat and tears that wer spent on the property, and then again needed to be put in to transform Greyleigh into what it is today.

Designer Dominique Brammah and Shannon Shlom had the tough, yet rewarding job of transforming the homestead into a refined farm stay, boasting with modern amenities and spaces.

Each room is filled with custom-made and vintage furnishings and fixtures that really make your mouth drop when you first see it.

And you won't find two rooms that look the same. From the bold colour choices, it's a mixture of things that usually wouldn't work together, but do.

You can tell the amount of thought and intricate detailing that went into the design as the property still managed to withhold that rustic, farmhouse feel with a modern twist.
