Instagram hashtags reveal secret gems around Australia

A new analysis of the popular social media app has revealed that users are discovering stunning, hidden spots across the country, simply using hashtags.

In between making deliveries and moving furniture, Assured Removalists have uncovered some of Australia’s most photogenic places, all revealed via their location hashtags.

The company singled out the top spots around the country, discovering that the most tagged spot was Moreton Island, a 170-square-kilometre island, located just off the coast of south-eastern Queensland, with over 65,000 hashtags.

Not far behind was Tasmania's Bay of Fires in Binalong, a stunning pristine beach just off the rocky coast with a beautiful shoreline.

Other hashtags that made the cut was Jurien Bay in West Australia, a picturesque coastal town facing the Indian Ocean, used 27,000 times.
