With the shorter days in full swing and colder days ahead, Aussies are planning their winter holidays - and it may come as no surprise that many of us are seeking warmer climes.
New data from Airbnb has revealed the most popular Aussie destinations between June and August 2024, featuring a lot of places in Queensland.
There are a couple of cooler-climate spots on the list too.

Gold Coast, Qld
The Gold Coast is a no-brainer for a winter getaway.
Often the temperatures are warm enough to swim, but the hinterland is also close by for exploring on days when the skies are grey.

For all the NSW-based ski bunnies out there, Jindabyne is the place to be, with easy access to Thredbo but all the conveniences of staying in town.
Cairns, Qld
If you want to escape winter, you can't go past Cairns. With balmy temperatures, some of the best beaches in the world, and access to both the reef and the rainforest, it's a welcome break from cooler weather down south.
