Bourdain's co-star reflects in emotional new trailer for Parts Unknown

CNN have released the new trailer for the final season of Anthony Bourdain's travel series Parts Unknown, taking viewers to the plains of Africa.

For the premiere episode, Bourdain and comedian and host of the series United Shades of America, W Kamau Bell, travel to Kenya.

In the trailer for the episode, Bell watches clips from the episode on a tablet and reflects on what he garnered from his fellow traveller.

"Everyone who had dreams of travelling with Tony — it's exactly as cool as you think it is," Bell says in the trailer, before describing his absence as "a punch in the gut." It's an emotional one.

The final season will premiere in the US on Sunday September 23 on CNN.

Bourdain's contribution to television was honoured recently at the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, where the late chef picked up two gongs for outstanding writing for a non-fiction program and outstanding informational series.
