Air Vanuatu leads August sales with flights from $499 return
If news of another impending cold snap has you plotting a warmer escape route, then you'll be pleased to know a number of international airlines have just launched massive airfare sales.
Leading the savings is Air Vanuatu with return airfares to Port Vila from $499, which Australian Traveller's Quentin Long has named as one of the top holiday bargains right now.
"Vanuatu has always suffered from having more expensive flights, but now they're getting something out there from $499 from Brisbane," he told Today.

His hot tip?
"It's a bit cheaper actually if you go to Espiritu Santo, which is the bigger island but less crowded island."
Aussies can also blag cheap flights to neighbouring Pacific Island Fiji, with Fiji Airways offering return flights to Nadi from $589.
"It's really good value," Long said.
Further afield, Hawaiian Airlines are offering return flights to Honolulu from $899, with an additional incentive to explore the other islands.
"For another $100 you can go and see the Big Island, which is now known as the Hawaii Island, or somewhere like Maui, which is really, really affordable to get out of just Waikiki."
