WWE wrestler Amore leaves match on a stretcher

A WWE wrestler has left a match on a stretcher after being thrown from the ring and suffering serious injuries.

Enzo Amore was taking part in the No. 1 contender's tag team match at Payback in Chicago when one of his rivals, Simon Gotch, attempted to throw him out of the ring.

Amore instead slipped into the ropes and appeared to suffer whiplash as he made contact before eventually falling to the ground outside where he lay motionless.

Upon reaching Amore and failing to get a response, the referee immediately called for a doctor and signalled the end of the match.

Amore was transferred to a local hospital where it was later annoucned he was conscious, talking and moving his extremities.
