Usain Bolt has taken a break from trying to infiltrate the world of Australian football to prove he's the fastest man in zero-gravity.

The eight-time Olympic gold medallist traded in his cleats for socks on Wednesday as he took a zero-gravity flight over France to promote Champagne label GH Mumm.

The publicity stunt lasted all of five minutes as a sea of cameraman captured the world’s former fastest man’s every move, including a weightless footrace which the champ so graciously won.

Bolt said his time aboard the Airbus A310 made him feel like a “kid in a candy store” despite his initial anxieties.

“(It was)Mindblowing, really,” said Bolt.

“I think at the start I was nervous but as soon as the first one goes you kind of go ‘oh my god, what’s happening’ but after the third one I was like ‘yeah it’s crazy’.

“So for me it was mind blowing, fully enjoyable.”

Bolt will shortly return to the Central Coast Mariners to resume his bid for professional contact in the Hyundai A-League.
