Ugly brawl mars Super Bowl XLIX
An ugly all-in brawl between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks has marred the end to a gripping Super Bowl XLIX.
The Patriots won their fourth Super Bowl title in the last 15 years after completing a dramatic 28-24 comeback in Phoenix, Arizona.
New England were down by 10 points against Seattle heading into the fourth quarter but scored two unanswered touchdowns to deny the defending champions back-to-back Super Bowls.
However, the gloss of the Patriots’ win was somewhat dimmed when the two sides traded punches with the game all but won with just 20 seconds left on the clock.
The brawl was sparked after Patriots Tom Brady took a knee to end the game, with footage showing a bit of push and shove between the players quickly escalated into fists fights breaking out across the field.
A number of players were ejected from the game for their part in the ruckus before the Patriots were finally crowned champions.
