UFC fighter refuses to tap out despite excruciating armbar

Powered by

There are few things more excruciating in world sport to watch than an MMA fighter who refuses to tap out despite being in an armbar.

That’s exactly what happened during the UFC 204 fight between Damian Stasiak and Davey Grant after the Polish fighter put his British rival in a perfect armlock.

The Pole went into the third round having lost the first two rounds and knowing he needed either a submission or knockout to secure the win.

Footage shows Stasiak using his legs as a pivot to wrench Grant’s forearm back and despite the Englishman’s elbow being pulled to a horrific angle, a determined Grant still takes the best part of 15 seconds to tap out.

Stasiak then celebrates the dramatic win with a machine gun celebration much to the displeasure of the partisan Manchester Crowd.

“I feel two times when Davey’s arm cracked,” Stasiak recounted.

“If he don’t tap I know that when the fight goes on he won’t be able to use that hand.”
