UFC commentator gobsmacked by Rousey defeat

Sports fans, and specifically MMA supporters, were left feeling all sorts of emotions after Ronda Rousey’s loss to Holly Holm in Melbourne on Sunday.

But one look at UFC commentator's Joe Rogan's face after the fight perfectly summed up the shock result.

Covering the bout in Melbourne, Rogan was captured on film moments after Rousey was knocked out and like the rest of the sport's fans was left truly the TV pundit was gobsmacked with his face a strange mix of shock and bemusement.

A well-placed head kick by Holm dropped Rousey onto the mat – the collective expectations of Rousey fans coming crashing back to earth along with her.

The Rogan video was filmed and shared on Facebook by John Wayne Parr, an Australian middleweight kickboxer and fighter, who was ringside at the match at Etihad Stadium.

"The reaction of not only Joe Rogan, but all Ronda fans," he wrote alongside the video.

With the victory, Holly Holm is now the Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s bantamweight champion.

While Rousey has taken a short hiatus from the competition, it has been suspected that a rematch will take place sometime next year.

"I’m going to take a little break, but I’ll be back," wrote Rousey on her Instagram account.
