'For a push?': Weigh-in clash causes UFC grudge match cancellation

It was dubbed one of the biggest grudge matches and the co-main event on the UFC Fight Night card that features Australian Rob Whittaker but the promotion has been forced into a shock cancellation.

The lightweight clash between Drakkar Klose and Jeremy Stephens was called off after Klose suffered an undisclosed injury during the obligatory face-off yesterday.

Stephens shoved Klose at the weigh-in when both fighters came nose to nose. Stephens He put hands on his opponent and pushed him across the stage. Klose tried top go back at Stephens but was held back by security.

The clash was an enticing prelude to the actual fight but fans were left shocked when Klose took to social media this morning to say he was injured during the altercation and wouldn't be taking his place in the octagon.

The news didn't sit well with UFC fight fans who left comments on the original post accusing him of faking. Fighters are trained to withstand an enormous amount of pain and the news didn't sit well with some after what seemed like an innocuous push.

Klose hadn't fought since a devastating KO loss to Beneil Dariush last year at UFC 248.

Stephens, who was searching for his first victory since 2018, was returning to the lightweight division for the first time since 2103, after losing his last four fights.
