UFC referee Herb Dean stunned fans on Sunday when he appeared to stop the fight between Marina Rodriguez and Amanda Ribas before changing his mind, pulling back at the last second and confusing both fighters in the process.

Rodriguez, who was the one most affected by the blunder, walked out of the octagon victorious via a second-round TKO, but not without controversy.

Early in the second round, Rodriguez took complete control of the bout with some solid ground-and-pound early in the second when it appeared the referee had rushed in to stop the fight.

But as Dean jumped in, he appeared to change his mind, pulling out as both fighters looked confused in the process.

Fortunately for Rodriguez, the referee's blunder didn't take away her victory. Just seconds later she ended the fight with a vicious hook which put Ribas out on her feet.

Fans were sent into meltdown on Twitter over Dean's blunder, with many left stunned that the fight wasn't ended when he appeared to call it off.
