UFC fans slam ref for allowing 'unnecessary shots' as Drew Dober defeats Nasrat Haqparast
There were crazy scenes during the UFC 246 prelim fights when Drew Dober defeated the favourite (and Kelvin Gastelum lookalike) Nasrat Haqparast.
Dober got it done with an awesome first-round knockout in their lightweight bout, but there was some criticism at the referee for not stopping the fight earlier with Haqparast copping a deluge of 'unnecessary' blows.
Haqparast was clipped, and then while on the ground with Dober throwing numerous punches to his head, in no way were the German's hands defending effectively.
Naturally, UFC fighters and media were surprised at the referee's restraint.
