Tim Tszyu vs Dennis Hogan fight official as boxing rivals make weight in Newcastle

Tim Tszyu has promised a spectacular knockout of opponent Dennis Hogan when the pair fight in Newcastle on Wednesday night.

Hogan (28-3-1, 7 KOs) weighed in at 69.4kg, then Tszyu (17-0, 13 KOs) tipped the scales at 69.3kg.

Tszyu cut a relaxed figure approaching the scales but was all business afterwards. He shared an icy stare-down with Hogan after the Irishman predicted that he would inflict the Aussie star's first loss, by stoppage.

"I out-box him every single round but I probably win it in a knockout," Hogan said.

Tszyu responded: "He believes [he'll win by KO]. I know [I'll win by OK]. That's the difference.

"This is the only option I've got, there's no such thing as make or break. This is the only option: winning, and in spectacular fashion.

"Everyone knows [how the fight will finish]. I'll let them enjoy the show."

Tszyu destroyed Bowyn Morgan by first-round knockout in his last fight, during December last year. He had hoped to fight for a world title in his next bout but it biding his time due to the complicated machinations of boxing.

Tszyu is the WBO's No.1 contender and world rated with every other sanctioning body in boxing. Yet WBO champion Brian Castano is currently chasing a unification bout with IBF-WBA-WBC champion Jermell Charlo.

Hogan, 36, is a former world title challenger, an Irishman now based in Queensland. Tszyu, 26, is the son of boxing icon Kostya Tszyu and has steadily built his own stardom in the sport.
