Throw to the stomach fells batter

A baseball catcher has prescribed to the saying 'if you can't go round them, go through them' when he felled a rival batter with a throw straight to the stomach.

Minor league sides the Pawtucket Red Sox were playing the Durham Bulls when Red Sox catcher Humberto Quintero saw a chance to throw out a runner trying to steal third base.

However, there was one problem – Bulls batter Luke Maile was literally standing in the way of the chance to pick up the out.

But instead of trying to avoid Maile with the throw, Quintero hurls the ball right into the mid-section of his rival catcher.

And while Maile writhes on the ground, an unapologetic Quintero complains to the umpire it was his team which was impeded by the painful blow.
