Jury finds USTA found mostly liable for Bouchard fall

The United States Tennis Association has been found mostly liable for Canadian player Eugenie Bouchard's fall on a wet locker room floor during the 2015 US Open in New York.

The Canadian tennis star, who slipped and hit her head in the fall, claimed she was forced to withdraw from tournaments and hasn't been the same player since the incident.

A jury on Thursday found Bouchard was partially at fault, with the USTA 75 per cent to blame.

Bouchard was 25 per cent to blame said the jury. Damages will be determined in another phase of the trial, starting Friday.

Bouchard sued the USTA for unspecified damages and testified their negligence led to her "serious head injury."

The USTA said she shouldn't have entered the area without being accompanied by tournament personnel.

She once was ranked No. 5 in the world but is now No. 116.
