US Open again applies extreme heat policy

US Open officials have put their extreme heat policy into effect again as temperatures continued to soar in New York.

It was pushing 32 degrees Celsius at Flushing Meadows on Tuesday, prompting tournament chiefs to implement 10-minute breaks should women's matches go to a deciding set or men's matches to a fourth set.

All junior singles and doubles matches were suspended as a precaution, it was announced.
