Tomic leads Aussie men up the ATP rankings

Australia's four highest ranked men have all hit career highs in the wake of the French Open, with Bernard Tomic potentially the biggest winner of all.

Tomic has moved up two places to No.24 in the men's rankings, a position that - if he can maintain it - puts him on course to avoid the top eight seeds at Wimbledon until at least the fourth round.

Nick Kyrgios is just one spot lower in the ATP rankings after his run to the third round at Roland Garros lifted him five spots, while Sam Groth, who took out a grass court challenger event in Manchester, is up six spots to 66th.

Thanasi Kokkinakis leapt 15 places to No.69 off his appearance in the third round, where he lost to finalist Novak Djokovic.

Swiss Stan Wawrinka moved up to fourth in the world following his shock win over Djokovic.

The Serb remains well clear of second-placed Roger Federer, who is trailed by Andy Murray. Rafael Nadal is No.10.

In the women's rankings, Sam Stosur has slipped two spots to No.24, but Melbourne-based Russian Daria Gavrilova is up to a career-high 42.

French Open runner-up Lucie Safarova has broken into the top 10 for the first time on the back of her career-best performance in Paris, moving up to seventh following her three-set loss to world No.1 Serena Williams.

Maria Sharapova dropped from second to fourth having failed to defend her crown in Paris, slipping behind Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova and Romania's Simona Halp.
