German fourth seed Alexander Zverev was in a foul mood during his fourth-round defeat to Milos Raonic and he wasn't feeling any better in his post-match press conference it seems.

The 21-year-old has fired back at a reporter who asked him about his furious racquet smashing during the contest.

"Do you often smash your racquet at pivotal times?" the reporter asked an annoyed Zverev.

"Have you done it in the past?"

Zverev's response was short and sweet.

"Have you never watched my matches? You should watch my matches," Zverev replied.

The German may be one of the new kids on the block, but he is no stranger to having a bit of a blow-up on the court.

"It made me feel better. I was very angry, so I let my anger out," Zverev, who served 10 double faults for the match, said.

"I'm not playing well, but obviously tried," Zverev said.

"In the third set I started to play a little bit better but, you know, it was a little bit too late already.

"I have been struggling with my second serve the whole week."
