Paris Masters overzealous security guard doesn't recognise Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal was forced to pull out of his quarter-final match at the Paris Masters because of injury and that's probably a good thing if the following video is anything to go by.

The World No.1 may be one of the greatest players ever to hit a tennis ball but that meant very little to an overzealous security guard who was at the entrance to the training courts.

Nadal was initially asked if he had a security pass to which the champion Spaniard player replied no, prompting the guard to get straight to the point as he moved across to block his path.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"I'm Rafael Nadal," the 16-time grand slam champion replied.

The security guard appeared to regret the moment after sheepishly standing to one side before saying, "Nadal, OK, thank you."

The moment was captured on Twitter by Sport Reporter, who noted that 10 wins at Roland Garros for Nadal wasn't good enough to overcome a missing security pass.

Nadal was extremely apologetic after having to withdraw from the tournament with a knee injury, with American Jack Sock going on to defeat Filip Kranjiovic in the final.

The 31-year-old is still hoping to play in the ATP World Tour Finals in London after scans revealed that he had not suffered any new damage to the long-term problem injury.
