Tennis: Djokovic proves point with classic song

It's not often Novak Djokovic has to play second fiddle at a major tournament but that's exactly what the world No.1 had to contend with on the opening day of the US Open.

The Serbian battled past Jerzy Janowicz 6-3, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 to book his spot in the second round at Flushing Meadows.

However, the performance wasn't the show stopper of the night.

Speaking after the match, the defending champion said he had some big shoes to fill after following a set from music "legend" Phil Collins.

"Thank you for staying this late watching tennis," Djokovic said to the crowd.

"I hope you guys were entertained especially after a wonderful opening ceremony.

"It was hard to put up a show after Phil Collins but, you know, he's a legend so ah …"

The 29-year-old then busted out a rendition of Collins' hit 'I Can't Dance', along with some questionable dance moves, to prove his point.

Stick to the tennis Djokovic, your time to shine will come soon enough.
