Novak Djokovic is set to join long-time rivals Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray as a part of a star-studded Team Europe line-up at this year's Laver Cup.

The newly-minted Wimbledon men's champion was announced as the latest addition to the team, which will be captained by Swedish tennis legend Bjorn Borg at the September event to be held at The O2 in London.

This year's Laver Cup will be Djokovic's first participation in the event since the 2018 edition in Chicago.

"I'm really excited to be joining Team Europe again for the Laver Cup at London's O2 arena in September," Djokovic said in a statement.

"It's the only competition where you can play in a team environment with guys that you're normally competing against and to be joining Rafa, Roger and Andy – three of my biggest all-time rivals – it's going to be a truly unique moment in the history of our sport."

"I don't think I could have imagined having these four icons of the sport on one team together," Borg added.

"I know they, like I, appreciate the significance of this moment and will be truly up for it.

"Each year our goal is to win. With Rafa, Roger, Andy and Novak on the team, I like our chances."

Team Europe is so far undefeated in the previous four editions of the Laver Cup, since its inaugural year in 2017.

Two of Team Europe's roster spots are still to be finalised after Djokovic's addition, while Felix Auger-Aliassime, Taylor Fritz and Diego Schwartzman locked in for Team World, which will be captained by John McEnroe.
