Roger Federer's new tennis racket design set to inspire the next generation of gardn slam champions

Designing and creating a completely new racket is a time-intensive process, and for tennis legend Roger Federer and Wilson, it took just over two years to perfect.

The newly released RF Collection reflects every aspect of Federer's life, both on and off the court, encompassing his family and personal experiences.It's sophisticated and sleek, intended to be the tennis equivalent of a fine-point paintbrush.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, Federer said he was confident that this collection would not only elevate the game but also inspire the next generation of tennis stars.

There were little surprises that the tennis legend would continue his partnership with Wilson, which has spanned over three decades."I'm excited about the new RF Collection that we've created together," Federer said in a Wilson statement.

"I'm honored that Wilson is continuing my legacy by further innovating the game I love, and I hope the collection inspires the stars of today as much as I was inspired the first time that I picked up a Wilson racket."

The main goal of his new collection was to enhance racket head speed and preserve his versatile playing style against heavy baseliners.

Even though he retired from the sport in 2022, Federer committed countless hours to testing and refining the designs.

After his retirement, he returned to the courts, refining the process to ensure the racket would be suitable for a wide range of players.

"I was back on the court the Wednesday after (retiring), testing rackets and that's what we do," he said.

"The racket was meant to be built for my end of career. I needed a racket that could go toe-to-toe with the best baseliners because coming to the net was becoming more complicated."

Federer believed it was a racket that offered versatility, enabling him to seamlessly blend pace, spin, and directional changes.The collection features three models, each with the same head size: the RF 01 Pro, the RF 01, and the RF 01 Future.

"I wanted to make it more user and player-friendly, not just for other people but also myself," Federer said.

"For me it was dropping some weight without compromising on the toughness and feel of the racket.'I wanted to make sure you could still hit good angles with spin and feel like you were holding something really powerful in your hands."

Each product in the racket collection features the iconic RF logo, with two thin white pinstripes marking the frame, a nod to his two sets of twins.

Federer described the RF logo as a mark of approval for the collection that would be used by both professional and emerging tennis players across the world.
