Alex de Minaur has moved up seven places to No.31 in the latest world tennis rankings, while US Open winner Rafael Nadal is within touching distance of Novak Djokovic in the battle for No.1.

De Minaur defeated Japanese seventh seed Kei Nishikori during an impressive US Open run, which ended when the 20-year-old Australian lost to Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round in New York.

De Minaur is 70 rankings points behind top-ranked Australian Nick Kyrgios, who moves up three places to world No.27.
