Murray's Kyrgios test in tennis comeback

Andy Murray's return to competitive tennis will be tougher than expected after being handed a Queen's Club showdown with Nick Kyrgios.

Murray decided on Saturday he would play at next week's pre-Wimbledon warm-up event at Queen's, ending an 11-month absence from the game.

The three-time major winner and and former world No.1 has not played since last year's Wimbledon due to a hip injury and subsequent surgery.

He practised on Friday at Queen's, delayed a decision until Saturday and then told tournament officials he would be there.

"Andy Murray has confirmed that he will play ..." tournament organisers said on Twitter.

Murray hit up with fellow Brit Cameron Norrie on Friday in a relaxed session but will have a real step up in opposition when he faces Kyrgios.

The Australian is world No.24 but Murray has a good record against him, winning all five of their meetings.

Elsewhere in the draw, Novak Djokovic will play a qualifier, top seed Marin Cilic takes on Spain's Fernando Verdasco and British No.1 Kyle Edmund will be up against American Ryan Harrison.
