Australian John Millman has wasted little time in winning his first-round match at the ATP Tour's Hungarian Open.

The sixth-seeded Millman crushed Serbian teenager Miomir Kecmanovic 6-1 6-2 in just 58 minutes, breaking serve twice in each set.

Millman, who made his maiden ATP Tour final last year on the red clay in Budapest, will face Attila Balazs in the second round after the Hungarian wildcard beat Poland's Hubert Hurkacz 6-3 6-4.

Serbia's fifth seed Laslo Djere needed a third match point to overcome Latvian Ernests Gulbis 6-4 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (7-2).

Dutchman Robin Haase defeated Italy's Thomas Fabbiano 6-7 (4-7) 6-3 6-2 to set up a meeting with second-seeded Borna Coric.

Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert beat lucky loser Egor Gerasimov of Belarus 6-3 6-2 while German Peter Gojowczyk eased past Lloyd Harris 7-5 6-4.
