Injury forces Millman out of Estoril Open

John Millman has been forced to retire from the Estoril Open midway through his second round clash with Joao Domingues.

The world No.50, who beat Bernard Tomic in the opening round on Tuesday, had lost the first set 6-3 and trailed 2-1 in the second when he pulled the pin due to an unspecified injury,

Local favourite Domingues, who is ranked 214 in the world, also beat Australian No.1 Alex de Minaur in the opening round.

He will now meet top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, who beat Guido Andreozzi 6-3 6-4 to record his 20th tour-level win of the campaign.

Qualifier Alejandro Davidovich Fokina stormed to a 6-1 6-2 win over Jeremy Chardy in 47 minutes to set up an encounter with third seed Gael Monfils following the Frenchman's 3-6 6-3 6-0 success against Reilly Opelka.
