Hewitt distracted ahead of Aussie Open

New Davis Cup captain Lleyton Hewitt admits preparation ahead of his last Australian Open in January hasn't been as focused as he would have liked.

"I'm so competitive that my main focus is still trying to prepare as well as possible," he said before an exhibition match in Hobart on Friday night with Sam Groth.

"In some ways, my mind has been preoccupied with the other younger Australian boys and trying to work out the best thing for the rest of the Davis Cup squad to try and have a good result over the Australian summer."
