French tennis player Nicolas Mahut pulled off one of the best shots ever seen … outside the lines of a tennis court.

During a Davis Cup clash against Britain, Mahut and doubles partner Julien Benneteau were put to the test the entire match, chasing down balls all over the court.

One particular point stands out when Mahut saved it three times when he really shouldn’t have.

The Brits slammed a serve right down the T forcing the Frenchman to make a difficult reply off his back hand.

The shot didn’t have much power behind it and floated in the air leaving team Britain’s Jamie Murray with an easy overhead smash.

Murray made the smash forcing Mahut out of camera shot and into the stands to make a reply to the power play.

As the ball was sent into the air, Murray’s teammate Dominic Inglot moved to the net to put away what was seemingly an easy overhead.

Inglot smashed it just as hard if not harder than Murray, sending the ball deep into the stands.

But he never expected the ball to be returned as Mahut hung the around the crowd after the last shot he made.

It was a fantastic rally kept alive by Mahut who never gave up on the play even though it seemed like it was over from the beginning.

France eventually took the match in a hard fought tussle  7-6(7), 5-7, 7-5, 7-5.
