Elton John goes tumbling at tennis tournament

British singer and renowned tennis fan Sir Elton John has endured a performance to forget after tumbling backwards off a chair at a charity event in London.

The entertainer and Billy Jean King were team captains for the annual Mylan World Team Tennis tournament, which has raised $14.5 million for AIDS research over the past 20 years.John was leading a team featuring past greats Martina Hingis, John McEnroe and Andy Roddick and inadvertently stole the show during a change of ends.The 67-year-old was attempting to sit on a courtside chair when it inexplicably wobbled under his weight and then collapsed, sending him flying backwards.He was apparently unhurt.The tournament was won by Chilean Fernando Gonzalez who defeated American Roddick in the final.
