Alex de Minaur beaten in Next Gen ATP final by teenage Italian Jannik Sinner

Top-seeded Australian Alex de Minaur was unable to capitalise on nine break-point chances as Italian Jannik Sinner stormed to victory in the final of the Next Gen ATP Finals.

Tournament wildcard Sinner, 18, overpowered world No.18 de Minaur to secure the title victory 4-2 4-1 4-2, to the delight of the crowd in Milan.

For the second consecutive year, de Minaur rolled into the final with a perfect 4-0 record at the round-robin event but again will have to be content with a runner-up finish, after losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas 12 months ago.
